jY! Messenger is a free instant messenger with an original interface designed entirely by the author. The application helps the users communicate through the YMSG protocol (the protocol used by Yahoo! Messenger®). The project uses the jYMSG API. Its main features are presented in the right side of the page. In addition, an icon is placed in the System Tray for quick access to the main features of the application. A mail notification icon is also placed in the tray when a new mail is received. When the application is closed the position of the windows and the main settings are saved so that when the application is launched next time the user won’t have to change the settings again.

This project is distributed under the terms of the GPL, so it can be further developed to accept other protocols, improve its features or adding new ones.
